Creating a Bold Yet Trustworthy Automotive Brand

As a new brand in the competitive automotive import industry, BuyMyCar.lk needed to position itself as both trustworthy and efficient—especially in a market where users are wary of scams and hidden costs.

The biggest challenge was developing a brand identity that felt bold enough for billboard visibility and clean enough for high-converting digital UI. It had to be visually strong, instantly recognizable, and symbolically convey both speed and assurance.

This branding project, executed at Mintleaf Digital, aimed to create a distinctive and scalable identity that connects speed, trust, and reliability with the joy of owning your dream car.

Establishing a Clean & Confident Brand Identity

BuyMyCar.lk required a visual identity system that would translate seamlessly across digital and physical formats. I explored bold geometric structures and used trust-invoking blues combined with vibrant red streaks to emphasize motion and energy.

The logomark—a minimal representation of a car front and tire—was constructed using clean, confident geometry. The result: a visual anchor that looks modern on both billboards and Instagram posts.

Typography selected (Canaro) supported the bold look and offered excellent legibility, while the palette leaned into the core emotions of trust, clarity, and excitement.


Applying the Identity Across All Touchpoints

Once the core identity was finalized, I extended it to digital and physical executions:


  • Website UI mockups were designed with the branding embedded as a design system

  • Social media visuals were produced with bold call-to-actions and consistent tone

  • Signboards and flags were prototyped to ensure visibility from a distance

  • The system also allowed for clean integration into car imagery, which was key for visual marketing


Brand Guidelines & Visual Toolkit

Delivered a complete brand system including:

  • Primary and secondary logo variations

  • Typography and color usage rules

  • Social media layout templates

  • Signage guidelines for physical locations

  • Logo export formats (SVG, PNG, AI)

This toolkit ensured that any designer or marketer could extend the brand effortlessly while keeping consistency intact.
